How did the cult of the K.K.K.emerge out of Christianity?

How was this cult successfully able to pass as ''Christian'' in the past when it contradicts ever thing the Jesus Christ taught during His life here on earth. If someone is a Christian shouldn't he or she value the life and teachings of Jesus over all other views and doctrines, even other parts of the Bible which go against Him. If Christ is not a man or a prophet but God in Christianity, then shouldn't His words be central in your life and ever other teaching that you have heard should take a secondary position[if you claim to be a Christian]? If true Christianity was not the cause if the K.K.K. and it's brutal violence against humanity then was it politics, corrupted religion, or culture to blame? If culture was apart of the problem, then should we allow the U.S. Southern Culture to continue to exist today?
