I want her so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like seriously?

So I like this girl and we've been talking the whole school year but for like 8 months she had a bf. We just talked late at night for like atleast 1 hr and a half a day. Even though she had a bf she told me she likes me and I told her I like her although that was the only time we brought it up. So recently she broke up with him and I've been consoling her, giving her advice (unbiased) and talking to her. Even her friends that are girls knew after me. Is that a good thing? Also how long should I wait to ask her out? And should I just say " Wanna be my gf " or like how should I ask. Should I start to hint at a possible relationship between me and her now , or wait? I just don't want her to get snatched up while theres a snowball in my throat.
